Private Group Bookings

Creative activity is a catalyst for fun, friendship, and camaraderie! The Bay School offers a variety of private get-togethers for family, friends, and colleagues to come together and be creative while making unforgettable memories!

These private group gatherings are tailored to the interests and needs of those participating and staffed with instructors knowledgeable in the creative medium being explored.

We invite you to review the options available and contact Grace at 804.725.1278 to discuss and plan the outing you prefer.

Sip & Spin

Bring up to six of your best friends or family members for an experience to remember while you play with clay!  No experience is necessary. You will learn some basic techniques for working on the potter’s wheel. After your creations have dried and been bisque-fired, we will glaze your fired work with your choice of glazes. After the final firing, you will need to return to The Bay School to pick up your completed pieces.

This 2 1/2-hour session can be a messy experience so wear clothes and shoes you don’t mind getting dirty. You are welcome to bring your own refreshments or pay an additional fee for us to supply them.

Creative Outings

Want to have a creative get-together with friends and family, but the Sip & Spin option is not your medium of choice? At The Bay School, we have a large variety of single-session classes that can be tailored to a private group's preferences and which can accommodate up to ten participants, depending on the medium and type of creative activity chosen.

Our class catalog is a terrific resource for considering what type of experience your group desires. There you will find options for painting in various media, felting, drawing, photography, mixed media, jewelry, and many other creative projects. Your creative outing will be a two- to three-hour session exploring the activity and medium of your choice.  You are welcome to bring your own refreshments or pay an additional fee for us to supply them.

Kid's Birthday Party

Celebrate your child’s next birthday with an Art Party at The Bay School! Your child's party experience will last two to three hours for up to 15 children of any age. The Bay School will provide an instructor-led art project. Optional add-ons include face painting and mini-Art Kits to Go as party favors.  You should plan to provide your own cake, other refreshments, and decorations.

Custom Art Kits to Go

Our very popular Art Kits to Go can be custom designed to fit any theme you desire to complement private parties, school events, promotional or fundraising activities, seasonal celebrations, etc.  Each Art Kit to Go contains a pre-sketched canvas, a color theory sheet, detailed instructions, and all necessary art materials to create your custom-themed painting.

Creative Corporate Team Building

Creative activity inspires outside-the-box thinking, strengthens team connections, and provides an enjoyable, low-stress opportunity for individuals working together to develop greater camaraderie.

Businesses seeking team-building activities will find our class catalog to be a terrific resource for determining what type of experience your group desires, including painting in various media, felting, drawing, photography, mixed media, jewelry, and many other creative projects. Your creative team-building session will be two to three hours exploring the activity and medium of your choice for up to ten participants.

Although most of our private bookings occur on-site at The Bay School, depending on the team-building activity you choose, accommodations can be made to send our instructor to your site to hold the session. If your team-building activity involves participation of more than ten individuals, please contact us to determine what options we might offer to meet your needs and team-building goals.

Homeschool or Private School Art Classes

To supplement the learning provided by homeschool groups and private schools, The Bay School offers a range of single-session art classes that encourage students to explore self-expression, creatively interpret content learned from other subjects under study, develop critical-thinking skills, experiment with a variety of media, and embrace the fun of learning. While these art projects can be based on similar classes found in our class catalog, our instructors are experienced in developing creative projects around particular subject matter being studied to provide students another means with which to explore the topic and absorb the information in a fun and interactive way.

Custom Art Classes are developed for up to 20 students.  Depending on the number of students involved, two instructors may be provided to give the necessary individual attention and guidance. Although most sessions are held at The Bay School, instructors may be provided off-site depending on the location and its ability to accommodate the activity.
