Feb 8: Rotary Club of Mathews Annual Chili Cook-Off

On Superbowl Saturday, The Bay School had a rollicking good time cooking up some spicy chili at the Rotary Club of Mathews' Annual Chili Cook-Off.

We were there defending our award-winning chili, having won the Judges' Choice Award last year. Although our chili was quite tasty, Mathews Land Conservancy won the Judges' Choice Award this year, The People’s Choice award went to the Mathews Historical Museum. and the Kiwanis Club won most tickets sold.

We were delighted to win Best Booth, which featured a festive and colorful photo opp background!

Plenty of our chili is left over, and you can pick up a quart for $8.00 at The Bay School.

A special thank you to our volunteers that came up with award-winning design of our booth and graciously served our chili to the hungry crowd!  These dedicated and fun-loving folks included Laura Jones, Kimberly Petts, Judy and John Salatino, Diane Grice, Melissa Lamont-Gordon, Selena Zuhoski, Lisa McCann, Rosemary Wagner, Stephanie Tiller, Joyce Pully, Carolyn Wood, and Mike Jones.
