Blacksmithing- Tools

Class participants will learn to heat and draw out iron to form useful tools.  In this multi-level workshop, students will make a set of blacksmith tongs which they will be able to take home and use.  We’ll also explore making other useful tools for blacksmithing.  Bring safety glasses, a heavy apron or coveralls, a 16-20 oz. ball peen hammer, 8-12 inch vice grip pliers, soft leather gloves that fit your hands so that you can feel your work and a welding helmet if you have one.
