This introductory course is for beginning and intermediate students wanting to learn or practice the basics of working with clay to create sculptural and functional forms. No previous clay experience required. Students will lern the fundamental techniques of handbuilding with clay, drape molding, surface textures, extruded additions, as well as basic slip application, glazing and firing processes. Those with previous experience may explore the endless design possiblities for creating objects both functional and sculptural for the house and garden. Class limited to 8 students. If you have your own tools, the tool kit doesn't apply. Dates: Saturday, July 31, August 14, 28, September 4, 25 (1:00pm-4:00pm) and Saturday, October 2 (9:00am-10:00am)
