Handbuilding with Clay 1016

This introductory course is for beginning and intermediate students wanting to learn or practice the basics of working with clay to create sculptural and functional forms.  No previous clay experience required.  Students will learn the fundamental techniques of handbuilding with clay, drape molding, surface textures, extruded additions, as well as basic slip application, glazing and firing processes.  Those with previous experience may explore the endless design possibilities for creating objects both functional and sculptural for the house and garden.  Class limited to 8 students.  If you have your own tools the tool kit fee does not apply.


Dates: Saturdays, October 16, 30, November 6, 20 (1:00pm-4:00pm) & Saturday, December 4 (9:00am-10:00am)
Class Tuition Cost: $100
Cost of Supplies: $10
